Convincing

I convinced a woman to not jump off a ledge of a building yesterday at 3 p.m. It was kind of scary because I was walking to the store and while I was walking I saw a large crowd surrounding a building. They were all looking up so I looked up and saw a woman hanging off a ledge of a building. This feeling set in and without thinking I ran into the building the woman was hanging off of. I ran up to the window and asked her what was she doing. When she saw me she had a surprised look on her face and she said "I locked the door, how are you in this room." I did not answer her I just asked If she could come off the ledge so we could talk. She shook her head no and start scooting closer and closer off the edge. I instinctively grabbed her arm and climbed out the window towards her. The look on her face I knew she did not think I would be out on the ledge with her and to my surprise I didn't either. I asked her again what is she doing and she said she was escaping. That threw me off a bit but I asked her what is she trying to escape from and soon as I said that the police started coming into the building. She tried throwing my hand off her and scooting but I did not let her. I told her "think of your family and what you would put them through it you did this, just come down." She said okay  and came down and went home.

  1. Ashley,
Be careful... the prompt was to talk about a time when you had to get someone to trust you. This is a more of a tense situation when you were trying to help someone. Also, proofread for mistakes.
